Ingredients for 4 people:
  • 400 g. of tortillas
  • a can of tuna
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • dry white wine
  • 400 g. of peeled tomatoes or fresh tomatoes
  • half onion
  • no clove of garlic
  • two peppers
  • salt

Preparation:

Tortiglioni with tuna are a simple and tasty first course, ideal for a quick lunch or an informal dinner.

To prepare the delicious Tortiglioni with tuna sauce, there are some essential steps to follow to obtain a dish with an exceptional flavour. First of all, it is important to prepare the sauce by creating a balanced and tasty mix of flavours. Start by frying the onion, whole chillies and garlic in extra virgin olive oil. Remember to shade occasionally with white wine to prevent the onion or garlic from burning. After removing the peppers, add the can of tuna drained from the oil and a little white wine.

After a minute, add the chopped tomatoes and cook over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. If using fresh tomatoes, peel them before adding them to the sauce.

While the sauce is cooking, you can prepare the pasta. Cook the Tortiglioni in plenty of salted water until al dente. Drain them and pour them into a serving dish. Add the tuna sauce and mix well. Serve hot to better appreciate the flavors.
