Ingredients for 4 people:
  • 400 g. of spaghetti
  • a can of tuna
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • dry white wine
  • 400 g. of peeled tomatoes or fresh tomatoes
  • half onion
  • a clove of garlic
  • two peppers
  • salt

Preparation:

To prepare these delicious spaghetti with tuna and tomato, start by preparing the sauce by frying the onion, whole chillies and finally the garlic in a pan in extra virgin olive oil. Deflame occasionally with the white wine so as not to burn the onion or garlic, making sure to remove the peppers once they have released their flavour.

Subsequently, add the can of tuna drained from the oil and a little white wine, mix well, crumbling the tuna with a wooden spoon and after two minutes, add the chopped tomatoes. Continue to simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. If you prefer to use fresh tomatoes, peel and chop them finely before adding them to the sauce.

Meanwhile, bring plenty of salted water to the boil and cook the pasta until al dente. Drain it and transfer it to the pan and sauté in the sauce for a minute. Serve the dish hot and enjoy the goodness of this delicious dish.

To enhance the marine fragrances of the dish, combine this delicious dish with a very fresh and fragrant white wine such as a Vermentino di Gallura or a Nuragus di Cagliari which are characterized by their fragrance of Mediterranean scrub with a savory taste of almonds and juniper.
