Ingredients for 4 people:
  • 400 g. of potato gnocchi
  • a can of peeled tomatoes
  • half onion
  • half a clove of garlic
  • a bunch of parsley
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Preparation:

Here is an easy and tasty recipe for preparing potato gnocchi with tomato sauce.

First, prepare the tomato sauce. In a pan, large enough to then use to sauté the gnocchi, sauté the onion and a finely chopped clove of garlic. When the onion has become transparent, add the chopped peeled tomatoes and cook for about 25 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally. In this way, the tomato sauce will have time to flavor well and become thick and tasty.

At this point, add a little chopped parsley to the tomato sauce, mix everything together and turn off the heat. The sauce is ready and you can set it aside.

In a fairly large saucepan, bring plenty of salted water to the boil. Add the potato gnocchi, which you can do were following the ricetta or buy them ready-made, and let them cook until they come to the surface. It will take about 2-3 minutes.

Once cooked, drain the potato gnocchi with a slotted spoon and put them in the pan with the tomato sauce. Mix everything well, sautéing the potato gnocchi in the sauce for a few minutes, until well seasoned.

Serve the potato gnocchi with tomato sauce while still hot, accompanied by a good perfumed red wine that does not overpower their taste. For example, you can choose a Merlot from Veneto or a Rosso dei Castelli Romani DOC.

Enjoy your meal!
