  • 300 g. of honey
  • 100 g. of almonds

Preparation:

Here is the recipe for Aranzadas, a typical Sardinian dessert made with orange peel.

First, peel the oranges and clean the peel from the bitter white part. Cut the peel into thin strips and, to eliminate the bitterness, leave them in water for 2 or 3 days, changing the water every 12 hours.

Chop half of the almonds and leave the others whole. Then you can toast the whole almonds in an iron pan without oil, stirring constantly so as not to burn them.

Caramelize the peel of the oranges in the honey over low heat for 20 minutes, add the sugar and the ground almonds and mix continuously for 8 minutes. Arrange everything on the baking paper and create a layer of about 2 cm.

Use a small glass of 3 cm in diameter to make circles and place them directly in the paper trays for desserts. While it is still hot, try to make volume so that the peels remain detached. Add one or two almonds and let it cool slowly.
